Songs for Christmas 2011

It’s that time of the year again and this time, it’s WOUNDS-time! Aww yeah baby. I’ve made two very special, Christmas-oriented tracks for you guys. Get them after the break.

“The Field”

“The Field” is an exclusive track made for the annual Avalanche Christmas album. This year, as with the previous, it was curated by the main guy behind Terranean Recordings and my buddy – Lukas A. Lunden. The very talented people at Avalanchers created creepy, drony and haunting tracks, mostly ambient-dronish but you’ll find minimal-techno, dub, illbient and shoegaze in there too!

From WOUNDS you get a fluffy, glitchy drone that is designed to make you cozy, soothe your shattered nerves and make you go on a wonderful journey inside your brain and/or imagination. I’m quite proud of it and thinking about expanding the idea into an album but shhhh.

“Triumph”

“Triumph” is a track exclusive for Syndae.de and their weekly podcast. This year I’ve been invited, something that made me vary anxious, nervous and all other sorts of -ouses. But, I’ve managed and cooked up the second-ever track from WOUNDS that uses my voice. Yay or nay? Whatever. This tracks is rather dark as I’ve focused on the idea of a saviour, whatever his name would be and in whatever religion he would be born in. We celebrate his coming but I thought about his “future”. He is born just to die. Kinda grim if you ask me.

Finally, something!” you might say.

I’ve put together a compilation of different tracks, some of them you may have already heard, some were hidden from the outside world for a long time, some are from the beginnings of WOUNDS, some are quite recent. You get the deal.
I’ve managed to recover two tracks from my live recordings. Just two because my HDD crashed and that is all that is left, sorry, I really wanted to share the full sets.
Either way, I had fun collecting this together and I hope you will have fun listening to it. The tracks vary in style (at least for WOUNDS) so that’s a new thing. Some are more shoegazish, some more beat-oriented while others are straight-up drones that will make you head turn into a square. Or would it be a cube then?

Two quickies.

Two quickies I did. CCP will probably stay there since I had fun creating it and “finished” in an hour. On Anwers Come in Dreams I might work someday. This ones done in 2-3 hours so, of course, it’s not the best thing ever. Anyways, listen to it there and in the meantime I’m going to Asymmetry Festival in Wroclaw. Weedeater, Electric Wizard, Godflesh, Final… Sounds like a good weekend. Cheers.

I know this place has been awfully quiet for a while (if you seek more updates – try following me on Facebook) but there was nothing “serious” to report. Anyways, I have a new EP in the works, so far 5 tracks done, should be out in a month or so.

I’ll be interviewed and will play some of my stuff on Monday on radiofonia.fm (click the leftmost orange button to listen)

Hey guys

The voting for Neuro Music Contest has ended and we managed to pull of a staggering 1323 votes! Thank you all for the support.

In other news – two of my tracks will be featured in a “drone musical, a movie about the struggle for perfection”. Yay! You can check out the trailer here:

A couple of days ago I posted a video on my Facebook page, it features some of the stuff I played at Ambient Park in August last year. I’m proud to say that I’ll probably be playing this year, maybe with some top class musicians, awesome.

I’ve had some trouble in my personal life but I promise that the physical release of Winter Remix Works is coming soon. And as a bonus it will contain a second disc filled with goodies!

A thousand votes! Yay!

We broke through the thousand votes barrier on the Neuro Music Contest and I’d like to thank you all for the support. I knew I’d never win since I’m still small time and, well, play ambient but it was worth the fuss. There is still a couple of weeks left for voting but I relieve you of this menial task. We’ve reached our goal, goodie.

I’m slowly working on some new material but it’ll take some time, sorry. As a make-up gift I’ll say that the physical release of Winter Remix Works is coming and should be out in the next month or so. Once again in a limited run of about 50 up to a hundred. On a side note – Winter Ambient Works is almost sold out so if you’d like to get yourself a copy, now is the time.

Lately I’ve been devoting my energy to Terranean Recordings of which I became a co-leader. We’ve got awesome stuff lined-up for you so keep an eye out on us. Actually, we’ve just released a new album by ELEKSEVENEKS called “Begotten” so you can start experiencing the Terranean right now;)
